The experiences of disabled people in Scotland as victims of crime: structural and attitudinal barriers in the criminal justice system

This paper outlines Capability Scotland’s participation in an initiative with the Justice Disability Steering Group to explore disabled people’s experiences of the justice system. In a discussion of the project findings, barriers faced by disabled people are highlighted, such as those which relate to people’s attitudes, built and physical environments, institutional practices, communication and access to information.
